Every extraordinary creation begins with a moment of inspiration. After a vivid dream inspired by ancient Egypt, Michael Gavrieli developed a vision that led to a unique way of combining one of the world's oldest painting techniques, encaustic with natural beeswax, with 24-karat gold. Unlike traditional gold leaf, the gold becomes an essential part of the artwork itself.
To the best of Michael Gavrieli's knowledge, no other artist has documented this particular combination of materials and method. Five years of experimentation and discovery culminated in the Gavrieli 24 Karat Gold Collection - five original, one-of-a-kind artworks created between 2018 and 2019.
Their collectors become founding patrons of the Gavrieli vision, with priority access to selected future collections and private presentations before public release. Working with natural beeswax also inspired a purpose beyond art. A portion of future proceeds from the collection will support bee health research, allowing collectors to contribute to protecting the pollinators our world depends on.
